The 2016 Mezz Pro-Am Pennsylvania State
10 Ball Championship was hosted by Drexeline Billiards
in Drexel Hill, PA on Saturday April 30th & Sunday
May 1st 2016. Strong players came out to play. The field
included players like: Shaun Wilkie, Joey Testa, Josh
Brothers, Matt Krah, Vinny Cimarelli, Forty, Sean King,
Carl Morgan, Ace Aughtry, Dan Madden and Steve Fleming,
to name a few. We’d like to thank Bob Maidhofand
his wonderful staff for hosting the event.
Leading the top half of the bracket was Shaun Wilkie
with wins over Barry Much 7-2, Sean King 7-4, Carl Morgan
7-6 and Vinny Cimarelli 7-2. Leading the bottom half
of the bracket was Josh Brothers with wins over Dan
Madden 7-4, Matt Krah 7-5, Carlo Favretto 7-1 and Joey
Testa 7-6.
Playing for the hot seat was Shaun Wilkie and Josh Brothers.
This was a great match that had Josh Brothers pulling
away late to win 7-5 and sending Wilkie to the one-loss
side. Waiting for Wilkie on the one-loss side was Vinny
Cimarelli. This was a rematch from earlier that day,
but once again it was Shaun Wilki ecoming away with
the win 7-2 to earn a spot in the finals.
In the finals was Brothers and Wilkie. This was a true
double elimination event. The first set was a race to
7. The second set was a one-game sudden death. Both
players decided to play one set. This was a great match
that went to the hill, and it was Josh Brothers that
came away with the win and the 2016 PA State 10 Ball
Championship. Congratulations to Josh Brothers.
We would want to thank all the players that came out
