Mezz ABCD 8 Ball State Championship made its way Eagle Billiards in City on Saturday March 24th and Sunday March 26th. A Strong field of 27players came out to play players like Derek Schwager, Jesse Docalavich, Tim Fitzsimmons, Joe Whiteley, Mike Johnson, Jerry Dunne, Tim Tanana, James Chemaly, Milissa Jenkins, Dylan Spohr, Bobby Hosie, Scott Hosie and Bill Ianierito name a few.

I like to thank owners Chris & Debbie Wilson, Ed Carnes and Manager Carol Cark for hosting the event. I had wonderful time, this is a great pool hall with lots of nice and great players.

Leading the top half of the bracket was Derek Schwager with wins over Charlie Marshall Jr. 7-5, Jeff Lotzi 7-6, and Joe Whiteley 7-4. Leading the bottom half of the bracket was Jesse Docalavich with wins over Tom Docalavich 6-3, James Kearney 7-2, Bill Ianieri 7-4 and Mike Johnson 7-3.

Playing for the hot seat was Derek Schwager Vs Jesse Docalavich this was a great match that went to the hill it was Jesse coming away with the 7-6 win after Schwager came up dry on the break. Waiting for Schwager on the one lost side was Tim Fitzsimmons this to was a good match that went to the hill but this time it was Derek Schwager coming away with the win 6-5 to get to the finals.

In the finals it was a rematch between Derek Schwager vs Jesse Docalavich both players decided to play one set for the championship. This time it was all Derek Schwager as he won 7-4 to become the 2018 Mezz ABCD State 8 Ball Champion. Congratulations to Derek Schwager, I would also like to thank all the players that came out to play.
